The cable on my pendant light does not hang straight. What should I do?Updated 12 days ago
- To start, remove the ceiling plate from the ceiling
- Disconnect the twisted cable from the junction box (always ensure power is off)
- Loosen the cord grip and rotate the cable gently until it is untwisted.
This should stop the twist in the cable pulling the fixture to one side.
If you don’t want to mess with the wiring, you can try the following first:
- Loosen the cord grips on the ceiling plate.
- Gently rotate the cables until they untwist, and the fixture hangs straight.
- Tighten the cord grips again
Please note, cables will straighten over time due to the weight of the bulb.
